the Women’s Fund Grants Each year the Research Committee will accept suggestions from members and the communities in considering potential projects to be fund. The committee considers only projects with competent leadership and a workable plan. The focus of the projects must benefit women, children, and families. Members decide all granting decisions by a simple majority vote. The Women’s Fund membership will recognize the recipients at an annual presentation. |
Charity Giving with a Group through Giving Circles
In the last few years, there has been a growing cadre of
charitable giving circles that gather people interested in philanthropy and
enable them to pool their money and t Women do so much to make communities possible. They embody the delicate balance of strength and compassion, fight for their beliefs, and collaborate with others to accomplish tasks. They invest their dollars, their time, and their best ideas in solutions to issues that a community cares about the most. So, appropriately Northern Santa Barbara County United Way in partnership with the Women’s Fund honors the vital role that women play in our community and is dedicated to increasing significantly the opportunities for women to participate fully as philanthropists.
Mission Statement The Women’s Fund of Northern Santa Barbara County responds to the community’s most urgent needs by making substantial gifts in the North County. Members and supporters of the fund translate their values into action to serve as a catalyst for change on behalf of the women, children, and families in North County. The Women’s Fund educates and inspires women to become leaders in philanthropy, emphasizing the power of collective giving and the rewarding personal experience that active philanthropy provides. |

Women’s Fund Membership To become a voting member, an individual must contribute a minimum of $500.00, paid in full each year by the deadline. Individuals may become founding members at $1,000.00. The Women’s Fund will identify founding members in perpetuity on all of the fund’s collateral material.. Women wishing to make smaller donations may do so as a non-voting contributor or may form a group to make the minimum donation of $500 collectively, deciding together how to cast their single vote. The Women’s Fund encourages and recognizes larger donors, but each member has only one vote per year. All donations are tax-deductible. Funds will be put into a bank account. A reserve of up to 10% of all funds collected in a given year will be held back to meet administrative expenses, mailing, and outreach costs. All unused reserves will be returned to the fund and applied to the following year. Complete the giving form and become a member of the Women’s Fund of Northern Santa Barbara County. As a member, you need make only the annual contribution. If you prefer to become more involved, you may join at a higher level of giving or serve on a committee.
